Nicaragua saw some of the best improvements in this year’s Infrastructure Index, which measures conditions in the areas of transport, technology, electricity and water in 18 economies in Latin America and the Caribbean. The Central American nation climbed three spots in the index in terms of annual change. But in the overall index, the leaders are Chile, Uruguay and Costa Rica. The index comes with sub-indexes with details such as: Time and costs of imports and exports, quality of electricity supply, access to water in urban and rural areas and quality of technology.
